Position Overview - Clinical Pharmacy Specialist
The Clinical Pharmacy Specialist will act as a key representative of the pharmacy department, ensuring the highest standards of pharmaceutical care are delivered. This role encompasses the evaluation of pharmacy policies and procedures, particularly in relation to medication management and compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee formulary management, including the development of clinical guidelines and protocols.
- Provide drug-related education and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance pharmacy services.
- Assist in the training and competency assessment of clinical staff and pharmacy learners.
- Engage in academic scholarship through authorship, presentations, and participation in national conferences.
Qualifications
Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) is required.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a pediatric or specialized clinical setting, with additional experience required for candidates without a PGY2 residency.
Licenses and Certifications: Eligible for Pharmacist Licensure in the District of Columbia and Board Certified Pharmacist (BPS) as applicable.
