External Sales Relationship Manager

GHX Industrial, a subsidiary of SunSource, is a reputable and evolving enterprise with a legacy dating back to 1937. As a prominent distributor and fabricator of industrial gaskets and hoses, GHX operates with a nationwide presence.
Our clientele includes major refining and petrochemical firms, upstream oil and gas service providers, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), as well as enterprises in the mineral and mining sectors.
Role SummaryWe are in search of a dedicated Account Manager to oversee a sales territory in the Benicia, CA region. In this full-time position, you will engage in daily sales operations focused on business development and client prospecting. This role supports an established sales territory.
Key Responsibilities- Exhibit a high level of motivation, self-direction, and commitment to customer service.
- Showcase strong organizational, planning, and prioritization abilities.
- Engage in consultative selling of company services to both existing and prospective clients (B2B).
- Develop action plans and schedules to pinpoint specific targets.
- Follow up and cultivate new leads and referrals generated from field activities.
- Prepare presentations and proposals for current and potential clients.
- Maintain and enhance sales materials and stay updated on product knowledge.
- Establish and nurture relationships with current and prospective clients.
- Oversee account services through quality checks and follow-ups.
- Identify and address client concerns effectively.
- Compile various status reports, including activity, closings, and follow-ups.
- Collaborate effectively with Inside Sales personnel.
- Participate in marketing initiatives such as seminars and trade shows.
- Manage follow-ups for payment collections.
- Coordinate shipping schedules and the delivery of products and services.
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
- A high school diploma or GED; a bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of outside sales experience in the industrial hose and gasket sector.
- Experience in value-added sales is advantageous.
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume sales environment.
- Proficiency in standard business software (MS Office, MS Excel, Outlook, CRM, etc.).
- A valid driver's license.
- Willingness to travel overnight as necessary.
