Position Overview:
The Inpatient Nurse Practitioner Lead is responsible for delivering advanced healthcare services to individuals, families, or groups as a highly skilled clinician. This role involves supervising the activities of inpatient nurse practitioners, providing orientation and training, and ensuring the safe and effective delivery of advanced nursing care in line with established protocols. The Lead will assess individual health needs, analyze data to determine required medical and nursing interventions, and develop treatment plans to address identified needs while evaluating responses to care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment:
Evaluate complex acute, critical, and chronically ill patients for urgent and emergent conditions, utilizing relevant data to assess physiological stability and formulate care plans. - Clinical Interventions:
Implement therapeutic interventions to stabilize acute and critical health issues, ensuring compliance with the Scope of Practice and credentialing processes. - Care Management:
Oversee the management of care plans, making necessary modifications based on patient responses, and facilitating transitions between healthcare settings. - Education:
Act as an educational resource for patients, families, and the healthcare team, providing guidance and consultation to promote best practices. - Patient Safety and Quality:
Commit to patient safety by addressing safety concerns and promoting shared accountability for safe practices. - Leadership:
Support the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures, educating staff on updates and acting as a mentor to enhance professional practice.
Qualifications:
- Education:
Required: Master's Degree in Nursing
Preferred: Doctor of Nursing Practice - Experience:
Required: 2 years of specialized Nurse Practitioner experience
Preferred: 4 years of clinical experience and leadership in healthcare - Licenses/Certifications:
Basic Life Support Health Care Provider certification, Advanced Practice Registered Nurse License, Registered Nursing License, and Nurse Practitioner Certification in relevant specialties.
