Acute Care Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant

Ochsner Health is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Acute Care Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to join our team in a collaborative care model. This role will work closely with residents, fellows, attendings, and staff to provide high-quality patient care in emergency medicine settings.
Key Responsibilities- Provide primary and urgent medical management, emergency stabilization of critically ill patients, and teaching of residents and medical students.
- Collaborate with PCCs, staff nurses, and discharge coordinators to plan, implement, and evaluate medical and nursing care.
- Assume responsibility for patient education and discharge planning.
- Develop and implement research methodologies to improve patient care outcomes.
- Provide education experiences to patient families, staff, and the community.
- Bachelor's degree in Physician Assistant medicine or Health Sciences, or graduate of an approved Physician Assistant Training Program.
- Master's degree in nursing.
- State of Louisiana License as a Physician Assistant, NCCPA Certified, Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) / Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification from the American Heart Association.
- Eligible for Louisiana Prescriptive Authority as outlined by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners.
- Current License as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of practice.
- Family Nurse Practitioner or Adult/Geriatric Nurse Practitioner ANCC or AANPCP Certified for Family Nurse Practitioner or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner ANCC or AANPCP Certified.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) / Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification from the American Heart Association.
- Eligible for Prescriptive Authority in the state of practice as outlined by the State Board of Nursing.
- 3 years' related working experience.
