The Inpatient Nurse Practitioner Lead is responsible for delivering comprehensive healthcare to individuals, families, or groups as an advanced clinician.

This position oversees the activities of inpatient nurse practitioners, ensuring effective orientation and training while maintaining adherence to established policies for safe and efficient advanced practice nursing care.

The Lead will conduct thorough assessments of patient health, analyze data to identify necessary medical and nursing interventions, and formulate treatment strategies tailored to meet identified needs. Evaluating responses to interventions is a critical component of this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assessment: Evaluate complex acute, critical, and chronically ill patients for urgent and emergent conditions, utilizing relevant data to assess physiological stability and develop care plans.
  2. Clinical Interventions: Implement therapeutic interventions to stabilize acute and critical health issues, considering the indications, contraindications, risks, and benefits associated with each intervention.
  3. Care Management: Oversee the management of care plans, making necessary modifications based on patient responses and focusing on optimizing outcomes.
  4. Education: Act as a resource for patients, families, nursing staff, and the healthcare team, providing guidance and consultation as needed.
  5. Quality and Safety: Uphold a commitment to patient safety by addressing safety concerns and fostering a culture of shared accountability.
  6. Leadership: Support the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures, mentoring and educating Advanced Practice Providers to promote professional growth and adherence to national standards of care.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Master’s Degree in Nursing (Doctor of Nursing Practice preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of specialized Nurse Practitioner experience; 4 years preferred, including healthcare leadership experience.
  • Licensure/Certification: Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers, Advanced Practice Registered Nurse License, Registered Nursing License, and Nurse Practitioner Certification in relevant specialties.
