Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our team as an Instructor of Clinical Medicine. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting physicians in the Inpatient service with End Stage Kidney Disease, as well as providing education and care to patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) in outpatient clinics and hospital follow-ups.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians in the Inpatient service with End Stage Kidney Disease
  • Provide education and care to patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) in outpatient clinics and hospital follow-ups
  • Participate in clinical trials and research studies
  • Collaborate with section chief, faculty members, and fellows in an academic medical center setting
  • Interact with dialysis unit staff and other healthcare professionals
Requirements
  • Master of Science in nursing
  • Certified nurse practitioner with prescriptive authority
  • Work experience with patients in a hospital/clinic setting
  • State of Louisiana License as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) / Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification from the American Heart Association
  • Eligible for Louisiana Prescriptive Authority as outlined by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3 years' related working experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge of Advanced Practice Provider policies and protocols at a department and campus/system level
