Position Overview

Are you dedicated to environmental stewardship and eager to contribute positively? Join Terracon and delve deep into impactful projects as an Environmental Consultant.

Our team is seeking qualified professionals to engage in comprehensive due diligence efforts. Responsibilities will include executing Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessments (ESA) and conducting targeted site investigations. Your role will involve fieldwork, collecting and analyzing soil and groundwater samples, researching public records, liaising with regulatory bodies, and crafting detailed reports that convey intricate information to our clients. A strong background in identifying, assessing, and proposing risk and remediation strategies to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations is essential. You will also be tasked with preparing relevant risk assessments and technical documentation, including proposals, reports, and correspondence with regulatory agencies.

Key Responsibilities:
A successful candidate will be adaptable, quick to learn, and possess excellent communication skills; be well-organized, detail-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced team environment. Responsibilities include:
  • Adhering to safety protocols and standards across all projects.
  • Participating in pre-task planning sessions.
  • Reporting safety concerns to management promptly.
  • Maintaining high-quality standards on all assignments.
  • Conducting site testing and providing recommendations for system designs on smaller, less complex projects.
  • Assisting senior scientists/engineers on larger, more intricate projects.
  • Performing site visits, field observations, and data collection.
  • Implementing technical requirements to fulfill client projects by supervising field staff in sampling, testing, and data collection.
  • Drafting written proposals for client approval under the guidance of senior professionals.
  • Evaluating moderately complex laboratory and field data and compiling findings into written reports.
  • Collaborating with clients regarding specific projects/tasks and participating in meetings.
  • Overseeing the work of junior scientists/geologists and environmental technicians.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology, hydrogeology, environmental science, or a related discipline with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong organizational and technical writing abilities. A valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record is required. Willingness to travel as necessary.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with ASTM Standard Practice for Environmental Site Assessments: Phase I ESA Process.
  • Completion of OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training.
  • Certification in your field of expertise.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
