Key Responsibilities
In the position of Mechanical Engineer, you will be expected to:
  • Oversee the mechanical design team's efforts throughout the schematic design development and contract documentation phases of projects.
  • Evaluate and design a variety of HVAC and plumbing systems for commercial and industrial applications.
  • Organize meetings and engage in reviews with various regulatory bodies to ensure code compliance.
  • Manage workload to ensure timely completion of documents.
  • Conduct work sessions at project sites alongside the Project Manager and other disciplines.
  • Review mechanical documents for potential conflicts across all disciplines.
  • Draft and revise mechanical specifications, and select appropriate equipment, systems, and devices.
  • Collaborate with and support related disciplines with addenda, RFIs, CPRs, and change orders, integrating agreed modifications into project documents.
  • Provide construction contract administration as required.
  • Conduct QA/QC on the work of other Mechanical Project Engineers, Coordinators, or CAD Technicians as necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC and plumbing system design.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Trane TRACE or similar software, and manufacturer selection software.
  • Experience with Revit MEP is preferred.
  • Prior experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm.
  • Interest in sustainable design/LEED is desirable but not mandatory.
  • A commitment to actively participating in our employee-owned culture is essential.
Preferred:
  • Master's degree in Architectural Engineering with a focus on Mechanical Engineering.
