Overview

We are in search of a Project Engineer to enhance and develop Carollo's infrastructure practice related to water and sewer systems.


As a member of our team, you will engage in projects associated with municipal water and wastewater treatment facilities, distribution and collection systems, as well as pumping stations.

This role encompasses projects related to master planning, asset management, condition assessments, infrastructure enhancements, water quality investigations, rehabilitation and expansion of treatment plants, and critical water reuse initiatives aimed at fostering sustainable and resilient water supplies.

Responsibilities


Conduct civil engineering tasks in water and wastewater treatment facilities and conveyance infrastructure, concentrating on site design elements such as site layout, yard piping, roadways, paving and grading, and stormwater management.


Engage in engineering planning and design projects, performing conceptual and preliminary design activities, including site visits, overseeing fieldwork, alternatives analysis, and report preparation.

Develop civil engineering plans and specifications.

Prepare cost estimates for various water and wastewater initiatives.

Generate technical memoranda, reports, and electronic deliverables.

Assist in coordinating sub-consultant activities.

Facilitate collaboration among other engineering disciplines, designers, modelers, technicians, and others involved in specific assignments.


Review contractor submissions for compliance with contract plans and specifications and assess requests for information as part of engineering services during construction.

Participate in field activities such as pilot testing.

Involve in permitting and alternatives analysis.

Support project managers with permitting submissions for treatment facilities and infrastructure projects, including coordination with various governmental agencies.

Engage in field activities and site reconnaissance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • 6 to 12 years of directly relevant experience in water and wastewater engineering.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer.
  • Application of engineering principles including critical thinking, analysis, and innovative techniques.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with clients and project teams.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Highly motivated, articulate, and self-starting.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • Familiarity with project scheduling software.
  • Active involvement in professional associations.
