Job Summary

A Customer Service Manager should support the management team, be a resource for all departments, a model for customer service, a driver for sales, and a skillful problem solver.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Spends the majority of time on the sales floor coaching and modeling exceptional customer service.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of all departments in the store to provide daily support, direction, and guidance to customers and team members.
  • Helps resolve customer issues and complaints and escalating problems to the management team when necessary.
  • Assists in the daily operation of the store in partnership with the management team and acts as the Manager-on-Duty in the absence of the manager or at satellite locations.
  • Assists with assigning work and providing focused direction to booksellers to manage and accomplish multiple projects to ensure the proper execution of the workload.
  • Assists with processing sales transactions involving cash, credit, or financial aid payments as needed.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years experience in a retail setting preferred.
  • High school diploma/GED preferred.
  • Outstanding customer service skills to match customers to products that meet their needs.
  • Basic reading, writing and accounting skills required.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills needed.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
