Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to join our team at Hospice of Muskegon County. As a Caregiver, you will provide direct care to patients in our Hospice Residence, ensuring their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Personal Care: Assist patients with bathing, dressing, grooming, and other personal needs.
  • Assist with Daily Living Activities: Help patients with meal preparation, feeding, and hydration.
  • Monitor and Record Patient Information: Take vital signs, record patient data, and report any changes or concerns to the resident RN.
  • Assist with Ambulation and Exercise: Help patients with walking, transferring, and exercising as instructed by the resident RN or therapist.
  • Provide Emotional Support: Offer emotional support and companionship to patients and their families.
  • Maintain a Safe and Clean Environment: Ensure the patient's living area is clean and orderly, and report any safety concerns to the resident RN.
Requirements
  • A nurse aide training and competency evaluation program approved by the State as meeting the requirements of § through § of this chapter, and is currently listed in good standing on the State nurse aide registry.
  • Current State of Michigan Nurse Aid Certification
Working Environment

This position requires working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with frequent changes in patient needs and priorities. The Caregiver must be able to work independently and as part of a team to provide high-quality care to patients.
