Job Overview

Position Summary

The Procurement Coordinator is tasked with overseeing the acquisition of construction materials and labor for new building projects, ensuring compliance with established budgets, timelines, and project requirements. This role involves collaboration with internal stakeholders, external suppliers, and contractors, and reports directly to the Assistant Purchasing Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensures adherence to specifications and standards regarding cost, quality, and vendor performance.
  • Generates purchase orders, emergency purchase orders, and initiation packages.
  • Maintains clear and timely communication with all parties involved in ongoing projects.
  • Organizes and maintains documentation (e.g., purchase orders, architectural drawings, material samples, job-related correspondence) to ensure accessibility for future reference and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Proposes cost-saving strategies related to the procurement of materials and labor.
  • Handles permitting processes within various municipalities.
  • Prepares reports and analytics as required by management.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience in purchasing construction materials or a background as a construction superintendent.
  • Familiarity with production home building purchasing software is advantageous.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational capabilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Dependable and self-motivated.
  • Capable of managing multiple fast-paced projects while adhering to budgets and deadlines.
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in interpreting blueprints and related construction documents.

Physical Requirements:

  • Manual dexterity and sensory acuity (visual and auditory).
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions, with prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustained visual and mental focus.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds, along with bending, pulling, and carrying.
