Job Overview

Position Summary

The Procurement Coordinator is tasked with overseeing the acquisition of construction materials and labor for new projects, ensuring compliance with established budgets, timelines, and specifications. This role necessitates collaboration with internal teams, external suppliers, and contractors, and reports directly to the Assistant Purchasing Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensures adherence to specifications and standards regarding cost, quality, and vendor performance.
  • Generates purchase orders, emergency purchase orders, and initiation packages.
  • Facilitates effective communication with all stakeholders regarding ongoing project matters.
  • Maintains comprehensive records and files (including purchase orders, architectural drawings, material samples, and job-related communications) to ensure documentation is readily available for future reference and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Proposes initiatives aimed at cost savings in the procurement of materials and labor.
  • Handles permitting processes within various municipalities.
  • Prepares reports and analytics as required by management.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience in purchasing construction materials or as a construction superintendent.
  • Familiarity with production home building purchasing software is advantageous.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational capabilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Dependable and self-motivated.
  • Capable of managing multiple fast-paced projects while adhering to budgets and deadlines.
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in interpreting blueprints and related construction documents.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to utilize manual dexterity, visual, and auditory acuity.
  • Engagement in repetitive motions, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustained visual and mental focus.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds, along with bending, pulling, and carrying.
