Key Responsibilities:

The Senior Building Automation Systems Engineer is a highly proficient professional tasked with the design, programming, testing, and commissioning of control systems for commercial and industrial building automation, particularly HVAC systems.

This role will support various projects and initiatives.

Core Duties Include:
Leading the design, upkeep, modification, and commissioning of control systems.

Overseeing the installation, replacement, and recommissioning of control devices, equipment, and software.

Possessing advanced expertise in diagnosing and resolving software and hardware issues related to control systems.

Directing necessary systems and operational sequence testing.

Communicating through various channels, including reports and documentation, while collaborating with Project Managers, engineers, programmers, installers, and clients.

Coordinating detailed point-to-point checkouts and evaluations of mechanical, electrical, and access control systems to ensure proper installation and functionality.

Maintaining accurate As-Built documentation and ensuring compliance with all turnover documentation requirements.

Leading field teams in the calibration of systems using basic electronic testing equipment, such as multi-meters and laptops.

Guiding field teams in troubleshooting and commissioning software programming.

Training clients on building automation systems.

Ensuring timely completion of all paperwork, including timesheets, work orders, on-site documentation, and project status reports.

Qualifications:

Essential Requirements:

Education:
A Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline.

A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in programming HVAC control systems.

In-depth knowledge of HVAC control systems and protocols such as BACnet, LON, and Modbus.

Advanced understanding of HVAC mechanical and/or electrical systems.

Strong troubleshooting capabilities in mechanical and electrical systems.

General Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills.

Strong observational and decision-making abilities.

Proficient in MS Office (Excel) is required.

Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.

Capability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Willingness to travel as necessary.

Eligibility to work for any US employer without current or future visa sponsorship.

Physical Requirements:
Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting up to 20 pounds. Hand manipulation is necessary for grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation. Ability to reach and work above and below shoulder height is required.

Awareness of equipment in the field is essential, as travel is involved, and work may occur near construction equipment. Occasional exposure to uneven terrain, dust, gas, fumes, noise, temperature extremes, and heights may be encountered.
