Key Responsibilities:

The Controls Building Automation Engineer III is a highly proficient expert responsible for the design, programming, testing, and commissioning of control systems specifically for commercial and industrial building automation and HVAC systems.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading the design, maintenance, modification, and commissioning of control systems.
  • Overseeing the installation, replacement, and re-commissioning of control devices, equipment, and software.
  • Utilizing advanced skills to diagnose and troubleshoot software and hardware issues within control systems.
  • Conducting necessary systems and sequence of operation testing.
  • Communicating effectively through various channels, including reports and documentation, while collaborating with project managers, engineers, programmers, installers, and clients.
  • Coordinating detailed evaluations of mechanical, electrical, and access control systems to ensure proper installation and functionality.
  • Maintaining accurate As-Built drawings and ensuring compliance with turnover documentation requirements.
  • Leading field teams in system calibration using electronic test equipment.
  • Training clients on building automation systems.
  • Ensuring timely completion of all required paperwork, including timesheets and project status reports.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in programming HVAC control systems.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC control systems and protocols such as BACnet, LON, and Modbus.
  • Advanced understanding of HVAC mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting skills in mechanical and electrical systems.

General Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong observational and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Capability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
  • Eligibility to work for any US employer without current or future visa sponsorship.
