Summary:
ISI Professional Services is seeking a knowledgeable Building Controls Automation Engineer (BCAE) with a strong background in the construction sector to deliver Owner's Representative construction management services for a Department of Defense (DoD) client. The BCAE will play a crucial role in overseeing over $300 million in ongoing construction initiatives of varying sizes and complexities. This position requires a diverse set of electrical engineering skills and construction management support to aid the DoD client effectively. Collaboration with senior government project managers and fellow contractor project managers is essential, as is the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. We are looking for a proactive individual who communicates clearly, takes initiative, and embraces project ownership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently gather requirements and data from project managers, ensuring timely and professional submissions.
- Provide expertise in direct digital control systems, building automation, computerized control systems, HVAC controls, sensors, meters, and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
- Collaborate with Project Managers to monitor and advance project milestones and government activities, ensuring timely execution of the construction program.
- Prepare project status updates, maintain performance metrics, and create comprehensive technical reports. Deliver both written and oral presentations to government leadership and program managers.
- Develop inspection checklists for code compliance inspections and oversee construction activities to ensure adherence to design documents, codes, and industry standards.
- Conduct Quality Control reviews and provide engineering support to uphold WHS standards. Perform site observations and inspections to verify that field changes are accurately reflected in as-built drawings.
- Address discrepancies between Government and Contractor deficiencies, providing weekly updates on resolution progress.
- Document compliance tests and identify non-compliance issues, citing relevant codes.
- Carry out Quality Assurance inspections and participate in outages to assess installation and design quality, maintaining a log of deficiencies and ensuring corrective actions are implemented by the contractor.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Pentagon WHS is highly desirable.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of construction experience OR a Bachelor's degree in Engineering with at least 15 years of relevant operational experience and a pertinent certification.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess a secret clearance.

Work Environment:
- Standard business hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
