We are looking for a talented Building Automation Systems Engineer to join our dedicated federal team on a long-term energy efficiency and sustainability initiative at a prominent facility.

Johnson Controls Federal Systems (JCFS) serves as a reliable partner to the federal government, focusing on modernizing military installations and federal agency facilities to enhance their intelligence, resilience, efficiency, sustainability, and security.

Work Schedule:
This position requires availability for weekend day shifts, specifically Saturday and Sunday, with a full-time commitment of four 10-hour shifts. The remaining two days of the week can be flexible based on employee preference.

Eligible for benefits from the first day of employment.

Vacation: Enjoy 3 weeks of paid vacation annually, totaling 6.5 weeks of paid time off.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Configure and program HVAC building automation and control systems (direct digital controls) while developing operational sequences.
  • Design and test software applications to ensure system functionality.
  • Collaborate with technicians to guarantee the quality, timeliness, and efficiency of engineering designs.
  • Conduct loading, commissioning, bench testing, and troubleshooting of system-level building control systems and network controllers.
  • Validate comprehensive system performance.
  • Provide field change documentation to the project team for as-built drawings and software updates.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in implementing Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems, including programming, commissioning, and testing, with a preference for 10+ years of experience.
  • Proficiency in integrating low voltage building subsystems using various industry protocols (e.g., LON, BacNet, Modbus).
  • Willingness to complete required training courses related to system engineering and custom logic.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain necessary security clearances.

Preferred Experience:

  • Familiarity with Metasys Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems.
  • Experience in SMP, SCT, and/or CCT programming.
  • Competence in creating SCT databases, custom programs, schedules, trends, alarms, and programming modules.
