Job Overview

Position Summary:

ISI Professional Services is seeking a skilled Building Controls Automation Engineer (BCAE) with a strong background in the construction sector to deliver Owner's Representative construction management services for a Department of Defense (DoD) client. The BCAE will play a pivotal role in overseeing over $300 million in diverse construction projects, ensuring they meet the required standards of quality and efficiency. This position requires collaboration with senior government project managers and contractor project managers as part of a comprehensive construction program. The ideal candidate will demonstrate effective communication skills, initiative, and a commitment to project ownership.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Independently gather requirements and data from project managers, ensuring timely and professional submissions.
  2. Provide expertise in direct digital control systems, building automation, computerized control systems, Building Automation Systems, Lighting Controls, HVAC Controls, Sensors, Meters, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), and related technologies.
  3. Collaborate with Project Managers to monitor and report on project milestones and government activities, ensuring timely delivery of construction initiatives.
  4. Prepare comprehensive project status updates, maintain performance metrics, and produce clear technical reports for government leadership and program managers.
  5. Develop inspection checklists for code compliance inspections and monitor construction activities to ensure adherence to design documents and industry standards.
  6. Conduct Quality Control reviews and provide engineering support to uphold WHS standards, performing site observations and ensuring accurate documentation of field changes.
  7. Address and reconcile deficiencies between Government and Contractor reports, providing regular updates on resolution progress.
  8. Document compliance tests and identify any non-compliance issues, referencing appropriate codes.
  9. Perform Quality Assurance inspections and attend outages to assess installation quality, maintaining a log of deficiencies and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Pentagon WHS is highly desirable.

Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of construction experience, or a Bachelor's degree in Engineering with at least 15 years of relevant operational experience and a pertinent certification.
  2. Must be a U.S. Citizen with a valid secret clearance.

Work Environment:

  • Standard business hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
