Key Responsibilities:
The Controls Field Engineer II is tasked with the installation, programming, testing, and commissioning of control systems for commercial and industrial building automation. This role involves:
- Executing installation, maintenance, and commissioning of control systems.
- Installing, replacing, and re-commissioning control devices, equipment, and software.
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting software and hardware issues within control systems.
- Conducting necessary systems and operational sequence testing.
- Communicating through various channels, including service tickets and reports, while collaborating with Project Managers, engineers, programmers, installers, and clients.
- Performing detailed evaluations of mechanical, electrical, and access control systems to ensure proper installation and functionality.
- Maintaining accurate As-Built documentation.
- Calibrating systems using standard electronic testing equipment, such as multi-meters and laptops.
- Assisting in troubleshooting and commissioning of software programming.
- Providing training on building automation systems to clients.
- Regularly backing up job databases.
- Completing necessary paperwork promptly, including timesheets and project status reports.

Qualifications:
Education:
- Associates/Vocational Degree in HVAC/Building Automation Controls is required, or a Bachelor's Degree in a related field (Engineering, Construction Management, etc.) is preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
- 3-7 years of relevant hands-on experience in systems programming and commissioning of digital HVAC control systems.
- Strong understanding of HVAC mechanical and/or electrical systems.
- Advanced troubleshooting capabilities in mechanical and electrical systems.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or drafting experience is preferred.
Must be eligible to work for any US employer without sponsorship.

Physical Requirements: The role involves intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting up to 20 pounds. Hand manipulation is necessary for grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation. You may need to reach and work above and below shoulder height. Awareness of equipment in the field is essential, as travel may be required, and work may occur near construction sites and hazardous machinery. Occasional exposure to uneven terrain, dust, gas, fumes, noise, temperature extremes, and heights may also be present.
