Position Summary:

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: Oversee Audio Visual services for banquet operations, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction, high-quality service, and adherence to corporate policies while achieving financial targets.

ORGANIZATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
This role entails both strategic and operational management of the AV Banquet services across multiple locations. The position is tasked with recommending policy adjustments, overseeing budget implementation, and managing expenses within established financial limits.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Evaluate Banquet Event Orders and maintain effective communication with clients, management, and team members to guarantee that all AV setups, equipment, and staffing align with client expectations. (25%)
  • Assess schedules, equipment, and supplies to streamline workflow and ensure quality service delivery for events. (25%)
  • Oversee and manage the Banquet budget, including labor, beverage, and supply costs, while coordinating with event budgets to optimize revenue and control expenses. (15%)
  • Implement company initiatives and address daily operational challenges through diligent monitoring of AV services to ensure compliance with safety standards and optimal service quality. (20%)
  • Lead the Human Resources functions within the AV Banquet area, focusing on staff retention and motivation; responsibilities include hiring, training, performance reviews, and conflict resolution.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
  • Engage in special projects and committees as required. (5%)
  • Perform other assigned tasks.
Qualifications:

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Education: Completion of one to two years of post-secondary education.

Experience: Two to three years in a similar role within the hospitality sector.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Possesses advanced knowledge of catering, food and beverage management, and hospitality principles.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data to make informed decisions and recommendations.
  • Capable of making decisions guided by established policies and procedures.
  • Strong verbal communication skills; proficiency in a second language is a plus.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Manage a team of 25-50 employees.

Travel Requirements:
Minimal travel as needed.

Work Hours:
40-50 hours per week, with variable days and times based on operational needs.

Physical Job Requirements:

Lifting and Carrying:
Occasional lifting of tables, chairs, and boxes (up to 50 lbs).

Bending and Kneeling:
Required for tasks such as securing cords and cleaning up after events.

Mobility:
Must be able to move quickly to assist clients as needed.

Continuous Standing:
Required for event oversight and client interactions.

Climbing Stairs:
Occasional climbing of stairs as needed.

Work Environment:
70% indoor and 30% outdoor work.

Equipment Used:
Computer, telephone, and other office equipment as necessary.
