Position Overview: We are seeking a proficient flatbed truck operator to join our dedicated team. Our peak season runs from April to August, and candidates must be prepared to work overtime and weekends as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate a flatbed semi-truck and trailer-mounted forklift for local deliveries of landscape materials.
  • Navigate various environments including driveways, alleyways, and high-traffic roadways.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in operating a moffett and performing skilled backing maneuvers.
  • Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicles, documenting findings on the Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR).
  • Report any unsafe conditions or service-related issues to management or dispatch promptly.
  • Participate in all required training sessions and meetings.
  • Communicate effectively with management regarding incidents, service interruptions, and customer requests.
  • Ensure materials are positioned correctly on customer properties without obstructing access.
  • Follow route assignments and complete end-of-day documentation as required.
  • Assist fellow drivers as needed to meet customer demands.
  • Maintain regular, consistent, and punctual attendance, with flexibility for variable schedules.
  • Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience operating a flatbed semi-truck.
  • Ability to operate a manual transmission truck is essential.
  • Must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License A (CDL).
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years old with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment DOT drug screening, physical examination, and background checks is required.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to operate a moffett and perform advanced backing maneuvers.
  • Familiarity with local roadways and interstates.
  • Proven track record of safety performance.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated integrity and ethical values.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Daily operation of an enclosed truck.
  • Outdoor work while loading and unloading goods.
  • Exposure to various weather conditions and contaminants.
  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.
