Position Overview:
The Front Desk Agent plays a crucial role in ensuring guest satisfaction by providing timely and accurate information and services to arriving, departing, and in-house guests. This position requires a professional demeanor and the ability to handle inquiries both in person and over the phone.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome guests and efficiently complete check-in procedures using both manual and computerized systems to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Facilitate guest departures by following established procedures to finalize accounts and prepare rooms for new arrivals.
- Accurately process financial transactions, including calculating and posting charges to guest accounts, ensuring precise billing upon check-out.
- Respond to inquiries and accept reservations, effectively communicating hotel information and utilizing suggestive selling techniques to enhance occupancy and revenue.
- Maintain strong customer relations by staying informed about in-house activities and local events to provide knowledgeable responses to guest inquiries.
- Operate the PBX system to manage incoming and outgoing calls, ensuring timely assistance for guests.
- Handle cash transactions responsibly, adhering to hotel policies regarding cash management.
- Exhibit a friendly and courteous demeanor at all times, contributing to a positive guest experience.
Qualifications:
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
No prior experience necessary.
Skills:
- Basic mathematical skills and knowledge of cash handling procedures.
- Experience in customer service and effective communication skills.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to handle various customer service situations with tact and understanding.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, especially when multitasking.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to read written communications and operate office equipment. The role requires standing for extended periods, as well as occasional bending and lifting of items up to 25 lbs.
Work Environment:
This position involves prolonged standing in a climate-controlled indoor environment, primarily under fluorescent lighting.
