Role Overview:

This position merges technical program management with IT and security strategy, alongside operational leadership. You will be instrumental in advancing Gusto's IT and security initiatives, emphasizing scalable, secure, and efficient technological processes. Your leadership will span cross-functional programs, collaborating with IT, Security, Product, and Engineering teams to strengthen Gusto's technological framework and security measures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical guidance and strategic recommendations to shape Gusto's IT and Security technology vision.
  • Act as a technology and security strategist, collaborating with stakeholders to develop and refine the roadmap for IT and security systems, aiming to reduce inefficiencies and bolster Gusto's security framework.
  • Lead and support cross-functional IT and security initiatives, working closely with Product, Engineering, and GTM teams.
  • Identify, design, and implement innovative IT and security capabilities to enhance Gusto's technological stack and operational security.
  • Establish and oversee a regular review process for business performance metrics, security compliance, and strategic project outcomes, providing insights and recommendations to influence executive decision-making.
  • Collaborate with IT and security operations leaders as a trusted advisor to ensure robust and compliant technological solutions.
  • Conduct in-depth analyses of complex IT and security projects, pinpointing root causes of challenges and coordinating cross-functional teams for effective execution.
  • Develop and implement scalable and secure processes to support IT and security objectives.
  • Serve as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment on program goals and results.

Desired Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of relevant experience in IT, security, or technical program management roles, focusing on designing and managing large-scale, technically complex solutions.
  • Proven experience in leading and executing strategic IT and security projects, including managing multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong capability to develop and communicate insightful quantitative and qualitative analyses to support strategic decision-making in IT and security.
  • Proficiency in analyzing and leveraging data to drive enhancements in IT and security operations.
  • Demonstrated experience in process improvement, particularly in IT and security, with a focus on enhancing system security and efficiency.
  • Ability to influence senior leadership and drive strategic initiatives centered on IT and security.
  • A strong commitment to continuous improvement and a passion for securing and supporting the organization.
