Capital One is seeking a highly skilled Senior Director of Technical Program Management to lead our Program Delivery Office team within Associate Experience Technology. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for executing on critical business goals and building large-scale products and platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead technical programs that deliver on critical business goals and build large-scale products and platforms.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to execute on key strategic programs.
  • Pave the way for an expanding TPM discipline within the team by leveraging industry knowledge and experience to teach the organization what a great TPM can achieve.
  • Develop and lead a world-class team of technical program managers to power real-time, intelligent experiences for our customers and associates.
  • Lead technology-focused discussions with senior leadership by providing valuable insights and recommendations that guide technology-based decisions.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to simplify technically complex concepts and drive well-educated decisions across product, engineering, design, and data science representatives.
  • Deep focus on execution, follow-through, accountability, and results, with the ability to work across different functions, organizations, and reporting boundaries to get the job done.
  • Highly tuned emotional intelligence, good listener, and deep-seated empathy for teams and partners.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical field (Computer Science, Software Engineering).
  • At least 9 years of experience managing technical programs.
  • Strong technical backgrounds, with the ability to proactively identify and mitigate technical risks throughout the delivery life-cycle.
  • Experience building and leading a world-class team of technical program managers.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to simplify technically complex concepts and drive well-educated decisions across product, engineering, design, and data science representatives.
  • Deep focus on execution, follow-through, accountability, and results, with the ability to work across different functions, organizations, and reporting boundaries to get the job done.
  • Highly tuned emotional intelligence, good listener, and deep-seated empathy for teams and partners.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 9+ years of experience designing and building data-intensive solutions using distributed computing.
  • 5+ years of experience in building distributed systems & highly available services using cloud computing services / architecture - preferably using AWS.
  • 5+ years of building & leading experienced TPM team.
  • 5+ years experience building highly scalable mobile products & platforms.
  • 5+ years of experience with Agile delivery.
  • 5+ years experience delivering large and complex programs - where you own the business or technical vision, collaborate with large cross-functional teams, secure commitments on deliverables and unblock teams to land business impact.
  • Experience in building systems & solutions within a highly regulated environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical field (Computer Science, Software Engineering).
  • MBA or Master's Degree in a related technical field (Computer Science, Software Engineering) or equivalent experience.
