Position Overview:
IT Veterans is in search of a Senior Unified Communications Engineer to enhance our team. The ideal candidate will hold an active TS/SCI clearance and have the capability to obtain and maintain a CI polygraph.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and assist in enterprise Unified Communications (UC) initiatives, offering engineering and architectural development support for VoIP, VTC, and DVTC systems.
2. Exhibit a profound technical acumen for effective problem resolution and troubleshooting.
3. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers, administrators, and technicians as needed.
4. Collaborate with hardware and software vendors to resolve technical issues.
5. Utilize established escalation protocols and personal judgment to ensure prompt problem resolution.
6. Address escalated service requests from the Service Desk.
7. Participate in on-call shift rotations with departmental colleagues.
8. Oversee the deployment and troubleshooting of VoIP equipment, including Cisco UC devices.
9. Manage the deployment and troubleshooting of VoIP applications such as Jabber, Microsoft Teams, WebEx, Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), and Cisco Unity Connection (CUC).
10. Take charge of complex and high-risk programs, without engaging in other roles.
11. Supervise technical staff, including subordinate managers.
12. Develop cutting-edge techniques for designing, modifying, and troubleshooting intricate computer operating hardware systems.
13. Formulate concepts and architectures for UC/VoIP systems, outlining specific requirements and implementation strategies.
14. Identify and resolve complex hardware/software interface challenges; serve as a subject matter expert on emerging technologies; guide the creation of UC/VoIP system specifications and technical documentation.
15. Provide technical leadership for the development, engineering, integration, and testing of all components of complex hardware/software UC/VoIP systems, including requirements gathering, analysis, and functional allocation.
16. Conduct and approve comprehensive system trade analyses to optimize UC/VoIP system operations throughout their lifecycle, balancing non-functional performance areas.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field; additional experience may substitute for formal education.
- A minimum of six (6) years of pertinent experience in addition to educational qualifications.
- Current DoD 8570 IAT II and CCNP (or equivalent) certifications are required.
- Experience in a DoD or Intelligence Community environment is preferred.
- Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain a CI polygraph.
