Senior Multidisciplinary Systems Engineer

The Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is on the lookout for a skilled Multidisciplinary Systems Engineer to contribute to the mission of the Space Warfighting Analysis Center/Spectrum Warfare Program (SWAC/SWP) based in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The ideal candidate will possess a robust analytical and technical foundation in satellite Ground Entry Points (GEPS), terrestrial data transport/fiber architecture, and cloud computing/storage solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Address customer analytical requirements through direct engagement.
- Foster a strong collaborative relationship with SDL Program Managers and engineering leadership.
- Lead intricate system analytics by coordinating the efforts of a diverse team of engineers towards a unified technical solution.
- Deliver briefings to industry partners and senior officials with minimal notice throughout the year.
- Collaborate with SDL Program Managers to establish clear deliverables and deadlines for the technical team.
- Maintain team focus on delivering exceptional analytics.
- Identify, monitor, and mitigate risks in collaboration with SDL Program Managers.
- Assist SDL Program Managers in navigating trade-offs related to scope, approach, cost, and schedule.
- Ensure timely delivery of high-quality analytics within budget constraints.
- Master's degree in a relevant engineering field or a Bachelor's degree with significant experience in GEPS, terrestrial data transport, and cloud computing/storage.
- A minimum of five years of experience in technical analytics.
- Capability to comprehend complex technical challenges and translate them into actionable tasks.
- Experience with cloud services such as AWS or Azure.
- Proven ability to manage complex analytics projects with loosely defined requirements.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build effective working relationships in a collaborative environment.
- Proficiency in task management and organization.
- Experience leading a geographically dispersed team, including SDL and subcontractor members.
- Ability to contribute effectively in a team-oriented setting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active Top Secret Clearance.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- Technical degree in engineering or science.
- Over ten years of analytical experience with GEPS, terrestrial data transport, and cloud solutions.
- Familiarity with cloud technologies such as VPC, EC2, S3, EBS, EKS, Lambda, and RDS.
- AWS Solutions Architect professional certification or equivalent Azure certifications.
- Strong understanding of networking and internet protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP, VPN infrastructure, and load balancing.
- Experience with Department of Defense technical programs.
- Demonstrated success in managing high-tempo projects.
