Position: Unified Communications Systems Engineer (AE)
Location: Colorado Springs, Colorado

Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI with the capability to obtain and sustain a CI polygraph.
Certifications Required: Current DoD 8570 IAT II and CCNP (or equivalent) certifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and assist in enterprise Unified Communications (UC) initiatives; provide engineering and architectural support for UC (VoIP/VTC/DVTC) projects.
- Deliver a high level of technical expertise for troubleshooting and problem resolution.
- Offer training and guidance to junior engineers, administrators, and technicians as needed.
- Collaborate with hardware and software vendors to resolve issues when necessary.
- Utilize escalation protocols and personal judgment to ensure prompt problem resolution.
- Address escalated service requests from the Service Desk.
- Participate in on-call shift rotations with other team members.
- Deploy and troubleshoot VOIP equipment, including Cisco UC devices.
- Implement and troubleshoot VOIP applications such as Jabber, Microsoft Teams, WebEx, Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), and Cisco Unity Connection (CUC).
- Manage highly complex and/or high-risk programs exclusively.
- Oversee assigned technical personnel, including subordinate managers.
- Establish cutting-edge techniques for designing, developing, modifying, and troubleshooting intricate computer operating hardware systems.
- Design UC/VoIP operating/hardware systems; develop UC/VoIP system concepts, specific requirements, and implementation strategies.
- Identify and guide the resolution of complex hardware/software interface challenges; serve as a subject matter expert on emerging technologies; direct the creation of UC/VoIP systems specifications and technical documentation.
- Provide technical leadership for the development, engineering, interfacing, integration, and testing of all components of complex hardware/software UC/VoIP systems, including requirements gathering, analysis, and functional allocation.
- Conduct and/or approve comprehensive system trade analyses to optimize UC/VoIP system operations throughout its lifecycle by balancing non-functional performance areas.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field; an additional four years of experience may substitute for a degree.
- A minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience beyond the educational requirements.
- Must hold current DoD 8570 IAT II and CCNP (or equivalent) certifications.
- Active TS/SCI clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain a CI polygraph.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in a Department of Defense or Intelligence Community environment is preferred.
