St. Catherine-St. Lucy School is part of the Archdiocese of Chicago and is dedicated to serving underprivileged pre- and elementary school students and their families, primarily from the Austin area. The student body is predominantly African American, with a significant percentage of families qualifying for financial assistance. The school is committed to providing a high-quality education within a supportive environment, transforming the lives of its students and preparing them for future success.

The leadership team at St. Catherine-St. Lucy is aware of the various challenges faced by its students, many of whom enter the school performing below grade level and have encountered significant life difficulties. Despite these challenges, students successfully transition to reputable college preparatory schools, with many achieving college admission and graduation.

As the school continues its partnership with the Big Shoulders Fund, the Executive Director will be instrumental in maintaining the school's progress towards financial independence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fundraising: The Executive Director collaborates with the Advisory Board and volunteers to raise essential funds, targeting approximately $300,000 annually through various initiatives, including special events and grant applications.
  • Strategic Planning: The Executive Director leads the revision and execution of the school's strategic plan, ensuring alignment with financial objectives.
  • Community Engagement: The successful candidate will actively participate in the school and local community, fostering relationships with students, families, and external partners to enhance the school's mission.
  • Enrollment Management: In partnership with the marketing team, the Executive Director will seek opportunities to increase student enrollment, ensuring that more families benefit from the school's offerings.
  • Marketing and Communications: The Executive Director will promote the school's mission and achievements through various communication channels, enhancing visibility and community support.
  • Operational Management: The Executive Director will assist in the management of the school's budget, human resources, and facilities, ensuring efficient operations.

Qualifications

Education: A Bachelor's degree is required; a Master's degree is preferred.

Experience: Candidates should possess strong leadership skills, managerial experience, and a collaborative approach to working with diverse stakeholders.
