About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Representative to join our team at Buyers Edge Platform. As a Business Development Representative, you will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities in the grocery store retail segment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Search for and target Independent Grocery Store and Convenience Store operators with food service offerings
  • Build and develop relationships with key retail stakeholders, including customers, wholesalers, distributors, manufacturers, and channel partners
  • Present at various events, including trade shows, food shows, and wholesaler/distributor meetings
  • Identify and seek prospective retail operators, handle lead generation and conversion to close

Requirements:

  • 5+ years in a sales role, experience selling to foodservice retailers preferred
  • Experience in and an understanding of the foodservice industry within retail
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills
  • Experience negotiating terms and preparing sales agreements
