Role Summary:

The Sous Chef plays a pivotal role in supporting the Executive Chef and ensuring the kitchen operates seamlessly. This position involves supervising the culinary team to guarantee that all dishes are prepared according to our esteemed standards, while consistently ensuring guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing the kitchen's operational budget and control costs effectively.
  • Enhance profitability by monitoring kitchen expenses and implementing corrective measures as needed.
  • Facilitate regular training sessions for chefs to refine their skills in knife techniques and recipe execution.
  • Oversee employee morale and provide constructive feedback for performance improvement.
  • Ensure all kitchen sections are prepared and ready for service during meal periods.
  • Support each culinary section to maintain the creativity and quality that Nusr-Et is renowned for.
  • Minimize food waste during preparation processes.
  • Train chefs in the preparation of various dishes and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations regarding food storage.
  • Promote a positive work environment to enhance employee productivity and morale.
  • Adhere to all food hygiene laws relevant to the preparation and service of fresh ingredients.
  • Flexibly work across different kitchen sections as required by the Executive Chef.
  • Maintain kitchen equipment to a high standard to prevent breakage.
  • Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of workstations after each meal service.
  • Effectively manage restaurant operations during shifts, ensuring high standards of food service.
  • Lead by example in all aspects of restaurant conduct and teamwork.
  • Collaborate with all staff members to ensure smooth food production and service.
  • Encourage safe practices in the use of kitchen equipment and facilities.
  • Adapt to operational changes as necessary to meet the evolving needs of the business.
