Job Title: Human Resources Generalist

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Generalist to join our team at Frederick Coin Exchange. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating human resources activities, including employment and employee relations, to support the growth and success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Human Resources Administration: Assist with the administration of company-wide human resources policies, procedures, and practices in accordance with stated corporate objectives and federal and state legal requirements.
  • Recruitment and Hiring: Recruit and interview candidates; provide management with hiring recommendations.
  • Onboarding and Offboarding: Coordinate the hiring process, including conducting background and reference checks, negotiating salary offers, and issuing job confirmation letters and other internal communication.
  • Employee Relations: Coordinate with multiple departments to facilitate onboarding, training, termination, and/or offboarding processes for employees.
  • Payroll and Benefits Administration: Provide support to the payroll administrator in the form of attendance tracking, approving time off requests, keeping up-to-date records of work schedules, communicating timekeeping issues, and serving as a backup administrator.
  • Employee Engagement and Development: Coordinate and/or conduct employee-relations activities and programs, including employee counseling, interpretation of policies, new employee orientation, and employee recognition programs.
  • Employee Communications: Respond to inquiries regarding the organization's processes, policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Training and Development: Conduct ongoing information and training sessions to develop employees and provide support and problem resolution.
  • Employee Recognition and Rewards: Coordinate the distribution/communication of projects, including employee handbook, open enrollment, and employee recognition.
  • Employee Relations and Conflict Resolution: Identify potential employee-relations issues and make recommendations to management.
  • Investigations and Compliance: Conduct investigations into claims of harassment or other company-guideline violations.
  • Workers' Compensation and Unemployment Claims: Coordinate the administration of workers' compensation and unemployment claims.
  • Compensation and Benefits Administration: Assist in the administration of company compensation and benefits programs.
  • Employee Development and Growth: Create and administer annual reviews of all employees.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or a related field.
  • Experience: Two to four years of relevant work experience in operations, office management, recruiting, or a related field.
  • Certifications: SHRM, PHR, or an equivalent certification.
  • Skills: Working knowledge of HR laws and regulations; experience in recruiting and staffing; strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; ability to manage priorities and workflow; ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees; proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite; proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines; strong interpersonal skills; good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions; creative, flexible, and innovative team player; commitment to excellence and high standards; excellent written and verbal communication skills; versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm; ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.
