Position Summary: We are seeking an HR Intern to join our team. This role will be instrumental in delivering essential HR compliance and administrative assistance to our Human Resources department.

Location: Frederick, MD
Hours: 20 hours per week
Compensation: $15 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and manage the progress, deadlines, and priorities of ongoing projects.
  • Review and edit HR documentation, including audits and employee handbooks.
  • Facilitate the exchange of offer letters and related documents with new hires.
  • Establish electronic employee records for incoming staff.
  • Forward completed HR documentation to the relevant compliance entities.
  • Ensure that job postings are up-to-date.
  • Advertise new internship opportunities on various educational platforms.
  • Assist in the onboarding process, training, recruitment, and retention initiatives.
  • Conduct reference checks and verify employment history.
  • Organize and maintain electronic employee files, ensuring all information is complete and compliant with retention policies.
  • Stay informed about HR laws and regulations.
  • Keep up with the latest developments in the HR field.
  • Gain proficiency in HR information systems and resources.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Communicate necessary updates and reminders as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited institution.
  • Strong interest in pursuing a career in human resources.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Availability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new information and skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented setting.
  • Friendly demeanor with the ability to engage with diverse personalities.
  • Meticulous attention to detail is essential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
