Job Overview

The NDT Assistant will collaborate with NDT Technicians to conduct non-destructive evaluations, determining the acceptance or rejection of materials. Comprehensive training, both practical and theoretical, will be provided to facilitate career advancement towards becoming a certified NDT Technician. While we prioritize long-term, full-time roles, we are open to starting with seasonal positions that may transition into full-time employment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Technicians in setting up and calibrating non-destructive testing (NDT) instruments.
  • Support the execution of non-destructive tests to ensure quality and identify defects using methods such as Visual Inspection, Ultrasound Testing, and Magnetic Particle Testing.
  • Document detailed inspection findings accurately.
  • Help maintain equipment and manage inspection records.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to established protocols and procedures.
  • Perform additional job-related tasks as directed by management.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Technical training or experience in industrial environments is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word and/or Excel).
  • Strong work ethic and reliability are essential.
  • Excellent safety and quality awareness.
  • Ability to follow instructions and procedures to maintain safety and quality standards.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in team settings.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules.
  • Willingness to travel 50-70% of the time.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Must be able to stand, walk, lift, bend, and kneel for extended periods, with shifts potentially lasting up to 12 hours.
  • Good visual acuity is necessary, including near, distant, and color vision.
  • Must be able to wear a full-face respirator and other personal protective equipment (PPE) for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
  • Comfortable with climbing and working from ladders, stairs, and scaffolding, sometimes exceeding 100 feet in height.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces.
  • Willingness to work in environments with extreme temperatures.
  • Exposure to industrial hazards is expected.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Starting wage ranges from $16 to $22 per hour, with overtime pay at 1.5 times the regular rate.
