Position Summary

The Asleep Overnight Care Assistant will provide essential support and assistance to individuals with developmental and psychiatric disabilities during overnight hours in Level 3 residential programs. Staff will assist individuals who may require daily intervention, supervision, and skills training in daily living activities while maintaining a home-like environment and engaging with the community. Some individuals may need moderate to significant physical assistance or accommodations. Staff will receive specialized training to offer enhanced supervision or interventions tailored to address multiple disabilities, which may include behavioral support or advanced medical care.

Work Schedule

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings, totaling 38 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assist individuals with all daily living activities during morning routines, including grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, and toileting.
  2. Provide care during overnight hours for individuals who may require assistance, including monitoring vital signs and administering topical treatments.
  3. Ensure the comfort, privacy, and dignity of each individual while delivering services.
  4. Maintain the safety of all individuals during shifts, implementing emergency protocols as necessary.
  5. Deliver services in accordance with DDS, DMH, MassHealth, HUD, DPH, CARF, and all relevant regulatory standards, as well as Bridgewell policies.
  6. Document daily and monthly progress notes, shift checklists, and other program-related documentation as required.
  7. Administer medications in compliance with MAP regulations.
  8. Maintain required training certifications, including CPR/FA, OSHA, PABC, and MAP.
  9. Complete assigned household cleaning tasks.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  1. High school diploma with at least one year of experience working with individuals with developmental or psychiatric disabilities.
  2. Successful completion of a Massachusetts-approved Nursing Assistant Certification course or equivalent education meeting state certification requirements.
  3. Current Nursing Assistant Certification in Massachusetts, with active status maintained.
  4. A bachelor's degree may substitute for CNA based on relevant experience.
Required Skills
  1. Strong written and verbal communication skills for clear documentation.
  2. Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  3. Valid driver's license with a minimum of one year of driving experience.
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and web-based applications used by the agency.
Physical Requirements
  1. Frequent stair climbing is required.
  2. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  3. Must be able to drive a vehicle and meet agency driving record standards.
  4. Normal range of eyesight and hearing, with or without corrective measures.
