Job Overview

Nova Data Testing is actively seeking dedicated and reliable individuals for the role of Non-Destructive Testing Assistants to aid in our operations across various regions. The NDT Assistant will collaborate with NDT Technicians to conduct non-destructive evaluations, determining the acceptance or rejection of materials. Comprehensive training, both on-site and in a classroom setting, will be provided to enhance your career path towards becoming a certified NDT Technician. While we prioritize long-term employment, we are open to starting with seasonal roles that may transition into full-time positions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Technicians in the setup and calibration of non-destructive testing (NDT) equipment.
  • Support the execution of non-destructive tests to ensure quality and identify defects using methods such as Visual Inspection, Ultrasound Testing, and Magnetic Particle Testing.
  • Document detailed inspection findings accurately.
  • Help maintain equipment and manage records effectively.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to established protocols and procedures.
  • Perform additional job-related tasks as directed by management.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Technical training and/or experience in industrial environments is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word and/or Excel).
  • Strong work ethic and reliability are essential.
  • High level of safety and quality awareness.
  • Ability to follow instructions and procedures to maintain safety and quality standards.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in team settings.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules.
  • Willingness to travel 50-70% of the time.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Capable of standing, walking, lifting, bending, and kneeling for extended periods, with shifts potentially lasting up to 12 hours.
  • Good visual acuity, including near, distant, and color vision.
  • Able to wear a full-face respirator and other personal protective equipment (PPE) for prolonged durations.
  • Capacity to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
  • Comfortable working at heights, including climbing ladders and scaffolding exceeding 100 feet.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces.
  • Experience working in extreme temperature conditions.
  • Willingness to work in environments with industrial hazards.
