Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Welder Specialist to join our team at Lighthouse Professional Services. As a key member of our fabrication team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of electric arc, inert gas, and heliarc welding tasks on structural apparatus and metal precuts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams, or schematics to determine the appropriate welding process and weld requirement symbology.
  • Set up and calibrate power supply with the correct welding program.
  • Weld together metal components of products such as piping systems, pipe, and tube or structural shapes, using arc and arc gas welding equipment.
  • Perform less complex TIG welds (hand) 1/8-1/4 inch.
  • Perform tack welds.
  • Perform most complex TIG welds (hand) greater than ¼ inch.
  • Maintain regular checks on welding equipment to ensure that machines are operating properly.
  • Work towards Dakota welder certification training.
  • Plan work and select proper tools working within precise limits or standards of accuracy.
  • Visualize objects in three dimensions from plans and drawings.
  • Compare and see differences in the size, shape, and form of lines, figures, and objects.
  • Manipulate parts to match print and dimensional specifications.
  • Complete parts to acceptable standards ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
  • Join, fabricate, and repair metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques.
  • Knowledge of wire and filler materials applications for stainless steel material.
  • May work with fixturing, Acon Table, and weld set up parameters (amps, volts, etc.).
  • Work with conventional and precision measuring instruments.
  • May conduct process and peer inspection.
  • May perform limited E/M assembly.
  • Understand welding logs.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma from a technical school.
  • TIG welding knowledge and experience.
  • 4+ years of related experience.
  • Forklift and overhead crane certification may be required.
