Job Overview

The Labor Sourcing Specialist will oversee the procurement and request for proposal (RFP) processes for labor contractors within Uniti's operations. This position entails identifying and onboarding new contractors, negotiating pricing agreements, nurturing relationships with current contractors, and analyzing pricing trends to ensure cost efficiency and operational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identifying New Labor Contractors
    • Research and network to discover potential labor contractors.
    • Assess contractor qualifications, capabilities, and pricing to align with organizational requirements.
    • Facilitate the solicitation and evaluation of bids or proposals from prospective contractors.
  • Managing Current Contractor Relationships
    • Foster relationships with existing contractors to maintain high service levels.
    • Promptly address any concerns or issues raised by contractors.
    • Negotiate contract renewals and modifications as business needs evolve.
  • Negotiating Pricing with Contractors
    • Engage in negotiations with contractors to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms.
    • Analyze pricing proposals and devise negotiation strategies to achieve cost savings while upholding quality standards.
    • Document negotiated agreements and ensure adherence to contractual obligations.
  • Analyzing Pricing Trends and Performance
    • Monitor market conditions and pricing trends to identify cost optimization opportunities.
    • Generate reports to track performance against budgetary goals and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance sourcing efficiency.
  • Maintaining a Contractor Database
    • Develop and sustain a centralized database of labor contractors, including their contact details, capabilities, and performance records.
    • Regularly update contractor information to ensure accuracy and completeness.
    • Create processes and tools for effective contractor data management.
  • Conducting Project Audits
    • Plan and execute post-project audits following established methodologies.
    • Review project documentation to assess compliance with organizational policies.
    • Interview project stakeholders to gather insights on project performance.
    • Document key lessons learned from completed projects to identify areas for improvement.
  • Enhancing Software and Processes
    • Collaborate with the Systems and Process Development team to advance the Contractor Bid Portal.
    • Support the design and implementation of contractor-related programs and tools.
    • Conduct research and analysis to optimize interactions with internal operations and contractor support.

Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to fulfill each essential duty effectively. The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in sourcing or procurement, preferably within the telecommunications sector.
  • Proven success in negotiating contracts and managing vendor relationships.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other analytical tools.
  • Familiarity with Oracle software and systems is advantageous.
