About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Director to join our team at Beard Equipment. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing policies and procedures that ensure the health and safety standards of our multi-state operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a culture of safety throughout the organization, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and best practices.
  • Build strong relationships with management and employees to minimize workplace accidents, injuries, and incidents.
  • Investigate all workplace accidents, injuries, and near misses, documenting findings and making recommendations to prevent recurrence.
  • Manage workers' compensation claims, including injured worker treatment, incident reporting, claim filing, and document submission.
  • Serve as a primary resource for employees regarding safety-related questions, concerns, and issues.
  • Provide regular training and increased safety awareness to employees at all Beard Equipment locations.
  • Review and update safety manuals as required, maintaining OSHA logs and annual posting requirements.
  • Build relationships with area medical providers to ensure employees receive efficient care.
  • Develop and facilitate safety training programs for employees.
  • Form and oversee safety committees at each location, ensuring regular safety meetings.
  • Stay accessible and available to receive notifications of incidents, assisting managers and employees on injury management.
  • Maintain positive and professional working relationships with coworkers, management, and vendors, demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service.
Requirements
  • Thorough knowledge of OSHA, MSHA, DOT, and FMCSA regulations.
  • 5+ years of experience in a safety management position.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in heavy equipment service shops preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in safety or a related field of study preferred.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Clean motor vehicle record.
