About the Role

The Armstrong Institute for Patient Safety and Quality at Johns Hopkins Medicine is seeking a highly skilled Business Development Manager to drive growth and expansion of our research, educational programs, and expertise. This role will play a critical part in advancing our goals of eliminating preventable harm, improving patient outcomes, and achieving health equity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to identify areas for programmatic growth and develop strategies for business development, marketing, and outreach.
  • Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including health system leaders, government entities, foundations, industry partners, and academic institutions.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business development and marketing strategy to drive revenue growth and expansion of our consulting and educational engagements.
  • Manage marketing initiatives, communications, and event planning to support business development efforts.
  • Responsible for customer acquisition, revenue growth, and identifying opportunities for collaboration.
  • Meet revenue and cost targets, and drive efforts to meet key performance indicators (KPIs).

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a related field of study.
  • Five years of relevant experience in business development, marketing, or a related field.
  • Additional relevant experience and/or training may substitute for some education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ten years of business or marketing experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in healthcare delivery, patient safety, healthcare quality, performance improvement, healthcare regulation, pay for performance, and public reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead business development and marketing initiatives.
  • Experience in healthcare organizations.
