Role Summary
As a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, you will engage in a collaborative healthcare model, working alongside residents, fellows, attending physicians, and nursing staff to provide exceptional care to outpatient clinic patients. Under the guidance of the Medical Director or designated physician, you will play a crucial role in the planning, execution, and assessment of medical and nursing care.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver primary and urgent medical management, ensuring emergency stabilization for critically ill patients.
- Educate residents, medical students, and staff while contributing to their professional development.
- Facilitate patient education and discharge planning, ensuring a seamless transition for patients.
- Maintain compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations and accreditation standards.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Physician Assistant medicine or Health Sciences, or completion of an accredited Physician Assistant Training Program.
- Master's degree in Nursing.
Experience:
- No prior experience required, though three years of related experience is preferred.
Certifications:
- Active Physician Assistant license in the state of practice, NCCPA Certified, and BCLS/ACLS Certification from the American Heart Association.
- Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license in the state of practice, with certification as a Family or Adult/Geriatric Nurse Practitioner.
Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient in computer skills for data entry and information retrieval.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting information clearly.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
Physical and Environmental Demands
This role requires the ability to exert moderate physical effort, including lifting and moving objects. The position involves exposure to blood, body fluids, and potential communicable diseases, necessitating adherence to safety protocols.
