Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Specialist is responsible for diagnosing and rectifying issues across a variety of machinery and systems. This role demands strong analytical skills to identify root causes and prevent future breakdowns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently plans and executes maintenance tasks in a timely manner.
  • Utilizes a diverse range of workshop machinery (including mills, lathes, and saws).
  • Engages in project management tasks such as layout planning, installation, and commissioning.
  • Communicates effectively with external suppliers for parts and materials procurement.
  • Maintains a safe, clean, and organized workspace.
  • Completes maintenance assignments promptly and adheres to company policies regarding safety and operational standards.
  • Installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs various filling and assembly machinery, including conveyors and pumps.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in troubleshooting electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
  • Responds to urgent machinery and equipment failures.
  • Conducts visual inspections and diagnostic tests on equipment.
  • Interprets electrical and mechanical schematics effectively.
  • Performs preventive maintenance during operational hours or scheduled downtimes.
  • Accurately documents maintenance activities.
  • Directs equipment operations during maintenance and troubleshooting tasks.

Additionally, the specialist will:

  • Report any issues hindering task completion to the supervisor.
  • Collaborate within a team environment with minimal oversight.
  • Adapt equipment as necessary to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Provide maintenance guidance and instructions as required.
  • Continuously seek and propose enhancements to equipment and systems.
  • Work across various departments within the facility.
  • Participate in training sessions as needed.
  • Employ root cause analysis techniques to mitigate recurring issues.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree or a two-year technical degree in Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance Technology, Electrical Maintenance, or a related field, along with 3-5 years of experience in an industrial setting.
  • Alternatively, a High School Diploma/GED combined with 10 years of mechanical and/or electrical maintenance experience may be considered.
  • Possess a solid understanding of filling and assembly machinery.
  • Skilled in safely operating power tools and common hand tools.
  • Experience with a variety of industrial equipment, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding.
  • Proficient in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment setup.
  • Demonstrated ability to use computer applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and conduct internet research.
  • Capable of following and providing clear verbal and written instructions.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and manage multiple deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are essential.
  • Ability to foster strong internal relationships across departments.
  • Willingness to take initiative and demonstrate reliability in a 40+ hour work week.
  • Flexibility to adjust shifts as necessary for operational support.
  • Ability to interpret schematic drawings and control programs.
  • Competence in using measuring tools such as calipers and tape measures.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Must pass relevant assessment tests.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development to keep pace with new technologies.
  • Must provide personal hand tools as needed.
  • Physical capability to stand or walk for 90% of an 8-hour shift, including climbing ladders.
  • Must meet vision and hearing standards.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and manipulate loads up to 500 lbs.
