The NVIDIA Autonomous Vehicles Platform team is on the lookout for a Lead Software Engineer to innovate and advance NVIDIA's automotive technology.

Your role will involve a dedicated effort to create and commercialize pioneering solutions that will transform the landscape of transportation and the burgeoning domain of self-driving vehicles.

You will collaborate with skilled and committed cross-functional engineering teams across various vehicle subsystems to integrate their contributions into our autonomous driving DRIVE SW platform, while meeting or surpassing all significant NVIDIA and automotive standards & guidelines.

Your Responsibilities:
• Develop software to enhance the quality and precision of data gathered from a distributed fleet of autonomous vehicles.

• Engage in hands-on debugging of complex sensor data pipelines that traverse various layers of the hardware and software stack (including automotive communication channels, operating systems, and applications).

• Design frameworks to assess data quality metrics over time, identifying and resolving systemic issues.

• Investigate opportunities to optimize data processing pipelines across vehicle software.

• Review specifications, create tests, and author relevant documentation and dashboards for measuring and visualizing the quality of sensor and vehicle data.

• Support data collection initiatives for our autonomous vehicle program.

Qualifications:
• BS/MS or higher in computer engineering, computer science, or related engineering fields (or equivalent experience).

• 8+ years of relevant experience in automotive software, robotics, and/or sensors.

• Proficient C++ programming skills, with familiarity in containerized software and data query systems.

• In-depth understanding of sensor software/hardware capabilities, including functional and performance-related behaviors.

• Strong grasp of Linux, QNX, or other real-time operating systems.

• Experience with sensors such as cameras, lidars, radars, ultrasonics, IMU, GPS, and associated data protocols.

• Excellent communication and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with automotive sensor software.

• Familiarity with statistics and data analytics.

• Ability to prioritize and make informed trade-offs based on data, complexity, and program timelines.

• Experience with distributed and scalable cloud-based software systems.

• A hands-on approach and ability to collaborate effectively within a team of algorithm, software, and hardware engineers, demonstrating a high level of detail orientation and a commitment to data organization and presentation.

The base salary range is 180,000 USD - 339,250 USD. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.

You will also be eligible for equity and benefits. NVIDIA accepts applications on an ongoing basis.
