The Senior Project Engineer role at Toyon Research Corporation seeks an individual with a robust foundation in engineering, computer science, physics, and/or mathematics, coupled with strong programming capabilities.

The successful candidate will be part of Toyon's Autonomous Systems Team, contributing significantly to technical endeavors while also demonstrating leadership in managing complex projects.

The scope of technologies applicable to this role encompasses autonomous system control algorithms, data fusion techniques, remote sensing data integration (including Multi-Mode Radars, EO/IR systems, and Advanced IRS&T), electronic warfare systems, software frameworks, open architectures and standards (such as OMS, FACE, STANAG), networking, and modeling & simulation (AFSIM, NGTS).


Key Responsibilities:
- Lead cross-functional engineering teams to meet critical program milestones and execute projects within established budgets and timelines.
- Serve as the engineering representative for programs, ensuring consistent and effective communication with external stakeholders.
- Develop comprehensive program plans, estimates, and schedules, and ensure adherence to these frameworks.
- Contribute to technical research and development aligned with the candidate's expertise.
- Conduct system analyses, perform trade studies, author technical documentation, and create customer technical data packages.

Qualifications:

- A Master's degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical field from an accredited institution, along with progressive engineering experience.

- Demonstrated technical proficiency in engineering principles, concepts, and practices, alongside project management and leadership capabilities, including organization, planning, scheduling, and workload coordination to meet deadlines.

- Prior experience in technical project engineering or similar roles, with a focus on technical leadership and project execution, as well as product innovation.

- Strong communication, leadership, presentation, and interpersonal skills to facilitate effective collaboration with various departments, management levels, professional staff, customers, and government representatives.

- Experience in one or more of the following domains: Autonomous control algorithms, data fusion techniques, Multi-Mode Radars, EO/IR systems, Advanced IRST, Electronic Warfare systems, Multi-INT systems, Software Architectures, Open Architectures and Standards (OMS, FACE, STANAG), Networking, Modeling & Simulation.

The annual pay range for the Senior Project Engineer for Autonomous and AI Systems position is $150,000 to $250,000. This range provides guidance on annual base compensation, exclusive of overtime, bonuses, and benefits-related compensation, based on various qualifications that may align with hiring objectives.
