We are in search of a Lead Robotics Engineering Specialist to oversee the Isaac ML-driven Planning technology for Autonomous Mobile Robots.

As autonomous mobile robots gain traction in various real-world scenarios, they are increasingly tasked with managing complex operations across diverse settings, from manufacturing plants to community areas.

NVIDIA stands at the forefront of transforming AI & Robotics, and we are looking for a seasoned and skilled robotics leader to join our Isaac ML-driven Planning team. This team is crucial in enhancing the functionality of mobile robots, empowering them to execute intricate tasks in varied environments through innovative machine learning solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop the strategic roadmap for the Isaac ML-driven Planning and Control technology to deliver high-quality, production-ready solutions to clients and platform partners.
  • Outline project deliverables and work packages, ensuring alignment of missions and dependencies across various teams.
  • Lead technical decisions and design processes to construct the next-generation Planner stack, utilizing cutting-edge AI / ML methodologies for foundational models.
  • Collaborate with and support other Isaac teams, including Simulation, Platform, and Software Quality Assurance, to deploy, validate, and enhance capabilities and features on both physical robots and large-scale simulations.
  • Oversee and guide the team through design and code evaluations (C++, Python, Pytorch, and Nvidia TAO toolkit).
  • Mentor and manage a team of robotics software engineers.

Qualifications:

  • PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field in robotics, or equivalent experience.
  • Over 8 years of relevant experience, including 4+ years in a leadership role.
  • Practical experience with real-time autonomous systems projects (robotics, autonomous driving, etc.).
  • Proficiency in designing and implementing innovative machine learning-based planning and prediction models for embedded computing units.
  • Experience in managing projects and teams facing similar challenges.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with techniques in imitation learning, reinforcement learning, and LLMs/VLMs for autonomous mobile robots.
  • Experience in delivering autonomous robotics products.
  • Publications in international robotics conferences (ICRA, IROS, CoRL, etc.).
