Imaging Associates of Alaska is currently seeking a dedicated full-time Patient Services Coordinator to enhance our dynamic front desk operations, which encompass reception and scheduling responsibilities. As a Patient Services Coordinator at Imaging Associates, you will gain invaluable insights into various facets of healthcare, as we provide top-tier radiology support across specialties such as primary care, ENT, Orthopedics, and Neurology. In this role, you will collaborate with our radiologists, referring physician offices, and radiology technologists to schedule specialized radiology examinations utilizing the latest MRI, CT, X-Ray, Ultrasound, Mammography, PETCT, and Fluoroscopy technologies available in Alaska.

No prior experience is necessary; we are looking for the right individual with the appropriate attitude and aptitude. Your understanding of healthcare will significantly expand in a short period, offering a pathway for career advancement into management roles, radiology technologist positions, nursing, physician assistant roles, or serving as a stepping stone to medical school.

This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week, with flexible options for 8-hour or 10-hour shifts to ensure a healthy work-life balance. Responsibilities will include patient scheduling and registration tasks, which involve collecting co-pays and deductibles at the time of service, as well as managing incoming calls for the practice.

Qualifications:
  • Preferred: 1+ years of experience in a specialized medical practice.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with medical terminology.
  • Preferred: Experience with medical pre-authorizations.
  • Required: Proficiency with multi-line telephone systems, personal computers, and standard office equipment.
  • Regular attendance is essential for this role.
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Patient Scheduling: Accurately coordinates all diagnostic procedures performed at the practice, explaining pre-exam requirements and procedures.
  • Patient Registration: Efficiently registers patients calling to schedule diagnostic procedures, ensuring all essential registration functions are performed.
  • Communications: Responds to all incoming calls warmly, addressing inquiries, directing calls to the appropriate personnel, or taking messages as needed.
  • Customer Service/Reception: Welcomes patients with a friendly demeanor, treating each individual with respect and compassion. Demonstrates exceptional customer service skills in all interactions with physicians, patients, and practice staff, while effectively performing reception duties.
