Position: Healthcare Services Supervisor

Employment Type: Contractual position with potential for extension
Work Schedule: Evening Shift 4pm - 12:30am (Monday to Friday)
Role Summary:
In this role, you will oversee and manage the activities of both technical and administrative personnel engaged in Medi-Cal program eligibility and payment processing. Your leadership will ensure efficient operations and compliance with relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate meetings to discuss unit operations and foster effective communication with other departments.
- Participate in training sessions to stay updated on regulatory changes and disseminate this knowledge to staff.
- Oversee the collection and analysis of statistical data to generate necessary reports.
- Align unit operations with the requirements of other hospital departments.
- Assess employee performance and provide guidance for professional development, which may involve hands-on training across various shifts.
- Review and enhance operational procedures, implementing changes and conducting staff training as needed.
- Address complex issues and complaints that require a comprehensive understanding of hospital policies.
- Conduct recruitment, training, and orientation of new staff members, ensuring adequate scheduling of personnel.
- Manage budget requests and monitor expenditures for the unit.
- Review Medi-Cal applications submitted by Patient Services Technicians for accuracy and completeness.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Exhibit professionalism and adhere to company standards of behavior and policies.
- Strong decision-making capabilities.
- Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Understanding of the Medi-Cal application process within the Social Services Agency.
- Interpersonal sensitivity and effective communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities.
- Knowledge of public assistance programs and related resources available to patients.
- Ability to model company standards of behavior.
- Familiarity with supervisory principles, including work planning and performance evaluation.
