Desert Regional Medical Center is a prominent 385-bed acute-care facility recognized as a stroke receiving center and a level 2 trauma institution. Our Rehabilitation Services Department is innovative, patient-centered, and evidence-based, offering a comprehensive range of inpatient and outpatient services, including acute care rehabilitation, joint replacement, spinal surgery, neurosurgery, ICU, telemetry, step-down care, skilled nursing, and outpatient therapy.

Position Overview:

The Office Coordinator plays a crucial role in managing and coordinating all front office processes within the Wound Care Center.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee daily administrative operations of the Wound Care Center, including patient intake, scheduling, registration, insurance verification, data entry, authorizations, and medical records management.
  2. Utilize computer systems effectively for word processing, database management, and billing functions.
  3. Ensure accurate and timely production of reports and invoices, maintaining consistent workflow.
  4. Maintain comprehensive patient records and manage documentation related to patient charges and correspondence.
  5. Generate and maintain reports on daily charges, providing necessary data to management.
  6. Demonstrate knowledge of third-party payer systems, assisting with patient financial counseling.
  7. Foster excellent communication with other hospital departments to ensure smooth information flow.
  8. Verify patient insurance and manage preauthorization requirements, addressing any denials promptly.
  9. Administer the Medical Records System in collaboration with clinical staff, ensuring compliance with current medical record requirements.
  10. Collaborate with clinic staff to maintain complete and accurate medical records, safeguarding patient privacy and confidentiality.
  11. Assist in developing and maintaining patient scheduling systems in partnership with medical and clinical staff.
  12. Manage office supplies inventory while adhering to budget guidelines.
  13. Participate in staff meetings and contribute to program development and improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

Required:

  1. High school diploma; some college education preferred.
  2. Previous experience in a medical office or hospital clerical role.
  3. Proficiency in word processing, database applications, and spreadsheet software.
  4. Strong organizational skills with excellent oral and written communication abilities.
  5. Experience in medical billing is advantageous.

Shift: Day

Pay Range: $21.65

Wages are determined based on various factors, including qualifications and experience.
