Our dedicated team offers a variety of inpatient and outpatient services, including acute rehabilitation, joint replacement, spinal surgery, neurosurgery, intensive care, telemetry, step-down care, skilled nursing, and outpatient therapy.
Position Overview:
The Office Coordinator plays a pivotal role in overseeing and managing the daily operations of the Wound Care Center. This position encompasses a range of administrative responsibilities aimed at ensuring the smooth functioning of the front office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize computer systems effectively for word processing, database management, and basic spreadsheet tasks.
- Oversee daily workflow and ensure timely production of reports and invoices.
- Maintain accurate data files, including patient records and business correspondence.
- Document daily charges and generate necessary reports for the hospital and program management.
- Ensure consistent and accurate information flow for patient records and financial documentation.
- Demonstrate knowledge of third-party payer systems and assist with patient financial counseling.
- Foster excellent communication with other hospital departments to facilitate information exchange.
- Verify patient insurance and manage preauthorization requirements to optimize reimbursement.
- Maintain responsibility for record-keeping and the collection of co-pays.
- Administer the Medical Records System in collaboration with clinical staff.
- Stay informed about current medical records requirements and ensure compliance with policies.
- Work with clinic staff to maintain comprehensive medical records while safeguarding patient privacy.
- Collaborate with relevant departments to gather necessary documentation for coding purposes.
- Prepare correspondence for referring physicians as directed by management.
- Develop and manage patient scheduling systems in conjunction with medical staff.
- Exhibit proficiency in interpersonal communication and reception duties.
- Track inquiries related to program marketing and growth.
- Ensure patients attend scheduled appointments through proactive communication.
- Maintain a log of caller information for follow-up and patient inquiries.
- Handle office correspondence and manage inventory of supplies within budget constraints.
- Assist management with projects and marketing initiatives as needed.
- Address routine issues following established communication channels.
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills in prioritizing tasks and delegating responsibilities.
- Participate actively in program meetings and maintain accurate minutes.
- Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance skills.
- Provide recommendations for improvements to office functions.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High school diploma; some college education preferred.
- Previous experience in a medical office or hospital setting.
- Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet applications.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience with medical billing is advantageous.
Shift: Day
Compensation: $21.65 per hour, with individual wages determined by qualifications and experience.
