Compensation Title: Transportation Supervisor III

Position Status: Regular

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 6:30AM - 3:00PM

Hours per Week: 40

Purpose of the Role: To ensure safe and effective transportation services that meet the needs of the University while providing reliable vehicles and equipment for operational personnel and the campus community.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure safe and visually appealing transportation options for the University.
  2. Supervise preventive maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and service work for all university-owned vehicles and equipment.
  3. Issue daily work orders to the transportation team to maintain the vehicle fleet.
  4. Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and supplies needed, including completion of work orders in the CMMS system for reporting purposes.
  5. Conduct general repairs and maintenance on all vehicles and equipment.
  6. Hold a valid Commercial Driver's License with a passenger endorsement.
  7. Be available during snow events to assist with vehicle and equipment repairs.
  8. Provide monthly data to administrative personnel for fuel and vehicle repair billing.
  9. Update and manage employee training and timekeeping systems.

Qualifications:
Technical or vocational training with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory capacity.

Required Skills:
  1. Valid driver's license.
  2. Basic computer proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  3. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  4. Ability to work with various types of related equipment.
  5. Physical capability to stand, walk, stoop, reach, pull, kneel, push, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
  6. Ability to perform medium to heavy physical tasks and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.

All candidates selected for this position will be required to undergo a pre-employment criminal background check as mandated by state law.

Minimum Education: High School Diploma

Preferred Education: Technical School Certificate

Minimum Experience: 4 years

Salary Range: $21.82 to $25.40

Pay Grade: S70
