Position Overview

Salary: $55,000-75,000/year for full-time based on experience.

Are you ready to join a dedicated and dynamic specialty veterinary clinic? The Veterinary Behavior Center is on the lookout for a skilled Operations Supervisor to enhance our expanding practice. Transition from constant crisis management to a proactive and innovative role focused on optimizing operational effectiveness, nurturing team talent, and achieving outstanding clinical and business results.

Under the guidance of a board-certified Veterinary Behaviorist, we are committed to improving the emotional well-being of our patients through tailored diagnostics, therapies, and psychiatric care. You will lead a compassionate team of healthcare professionals who share a commitment to ensuring the animals in our care experience minimal pain, distress, and fear.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Oversight: Manage bookkeeping, daily financial processes, accounts receivable, profit and loss statements, cost of goods sold, key performance indicators, program analysis, billing, budgeting, and maintain the Chart of Accounts to protect the financial interests of the clinic.
  • Facility Management: Oversee the maintenance and repairs of the clinic premises, coordinate with contractors, assess needs, and troubleshoot technological issues.
  • Operational Leadership: Supervise daily clinic operations, master all software platforms, manage workflow improvements, clinical scheduling, standard operating procedure development, and event planning.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to OSHA and DEA standards, develop protocols, and manage insurance audits.
  • Human Resources Management: Collaborate with the Practice Owner on hiring and termination processes, manage onboarding and offboarding, maintain employee records, participate in performance evaluations, administer benefits, and ensure compliance with HR regulations.
  • Inventory and Pharmacy Oversight: Conduct price comparisons, manage ordering and inventory tracking, and foster vendor relationships.
  • Marketing Initiatives: Engage in marketing efforts through in-person, virtual, and written communications, and maintain the clinic's website.
  • Team Support: Cross-train in various roles to provide backup support as needed.

Preferred Experience:

  • A minimum of three years in veterinary practice management is preferred, though other management experience may be considered.
  • CVPM certification or eligibility is preferred.
  • Experience working with animals is a plus.
  • Knowledge of restraint and phlebotomy techniques is advantageous.
